Steroid Hormones

We have the finest mass spectrometers in the business, powering our novel HPLC-MS/MS methods for measurement of steroid hormones: deoxycorticosterone, aldosterone, estradiol, estrone, testosterone, androstenedione, 11-deoxycortisol, progesterone, dihydrotestosterone, 17α-OH-progesterone, corticosterone, cortisone, cortisol, and dehydroepiandrosterone in relevant matrices (serum, plasma, capillary blood (DBS), saliva, etc.).

History

OpAns began performing HPLC-MS/MS steroid measurements in support of pharmaceutical treatments of steroid mediated cancers.   To optimize the new treatments and reduce the side effects of treatment, in-vitro assays evaluating each specific enzymatic pathway were developed.   These enzymatic tests were combined to produce an in-vitro panel test, tests utilized for Endocrine Disruption Screening and then in-vivo panel tests for all types of animals from fish to rodents to primates.   Eventually, these HPLC-MS/MS panel tests were extended to human clinical trials, environmental contamination monitoring (swipe testing), and finally, to human clinical diagnostics.

Who's Using these Services

Pharmaceutical researchers, chemical manufacturers, government agencies, and physicians / clinics are using these services.

Studies Supported

Our methods are used to study preclinical animal models, to support human clinical trials, and to perform clinical diagnostics testing (for specific disease states, fertility, oncology, metabolic function).
