Early stage compounds rarely possess the desired metabolic stability profile. Often, they are rapidly metabolized and must be modified to increase stability. The first step in optimization is determining the metabolic transformations the compound undergoes.
Using LC-MSn on an ion-trap we are able to analyze the samples from our metabolic stability assay to determine the specific transformations that occur and determine the “hot spots” on the molecule.
